auditions for shrek jr. week of february 23

The PTA thanks you for your patience as we worked hard to ensure this year’s musical would go on. We are happy to announce that interested 4th-6th graders are invited to audition next week in the Black Box theater.

Audition Schedule

• Tuesday, February 24 from 3:45-5:30 OR Wednesday, February 25 from 3:45-5:30.

• Students should plan to only attend one audition session.

• Callbacks, by request only, will be held Thursday, February 26 from 3:45-5:30.

• Casting will be announced on Saturday, February 28 by 8pm.

Participation in the auditions does not guarantee casting in the show. Parents are encouraged to discuss this with their students prior to the workshop. Sign up for an audition using the Google form link or QR code below.

Audition Preparation

Students should come prepared to introduce themselves and perform a short song of their choice, approximately 30-60 seconds long, incorporating any acting skills they wish into the song. If they participate in dance and would like to present a brief routine they may, but it isn’t required.

Rehearsals & Shows

Rehearsals for those cast will begin on Tuesday March 3rd, occurring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:30pm. Additional rehearsals may occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays. Attendance at rehearsals is vital to the success of the show. The directors ask that absences be communicated and kept to a minimum. During the two weeks leading up to the show, the cast will have mandatory rehearsals every night.

Shows will take place May 14-16.

We have to establish an attendance list for each rehearsal day so please fill out this Google form for your student by Monday, February 23 at 9pm.
