Fairfax County Council of PTAs Special Education Committee – April Highlight

The Fairfax County Council of PTAs is the county-wide PTA organization that represents all Fairfax County PTAs and school communities. Within the council are many committees that address specific populations and needs. One such committee is the FCCPTA Special Education Committee. This committee holds meetings addressing many topics pertinent to the Special Education Community in Fairfax County. The most recent meeting was March 10th, 2016. That meeting was in the format of a panel discussion and addressed how to support families of special needs students. Along with six other FCPS school representatives, HWES Special Education Committee Liaison, Diane Cooper-Gould participated on the panel. She discussed our new school committee plans, Special Education event listservs and the formation of a Special Education PTA (SEPTA).
