After School Activities Task Force

Susan Sather passed out two documents the committee has been working on; 1. PTA Standards for the After School Program and 2. The Adult Leader Agreement. She asked that members please review and please give feedback, as they are continuing to refine the documents. In addition they would like to develop a catalog of activities that would give the details of the activities offered.

Principal’s Report:

Mrs. Toatley thanked the PTA for all their support this past year.

Enrollment for the coming school year is close to 1000 students. There was some loss in staff but all is going well in filling those open positions.

It is clean up and maintenance time at the school – which is working around other occupants of the school. She reminded us that the summer office hours are 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Channel 21 will have a clip featuring our school in regard to Music Education. Our own Mr. Ware can be seen in this feature!

Mrs. Toatley will be out of the office for 2 weeks. The week of July 22 nd she will be attending a conference in London and then will be in Paris the following week. Sarah Skerker, Asst. Principal has graciously agreed to come in a week early to cover the office in Mrs. Toatley’s absence.

New Business:

Mini – Grants

Norma Morris, Art Specialist, explained her request for funds to cover the cost of 120 aprons to be used during art class. She explained that the current system of using oversized t-shirts can be messy.

It was determined that we can not consider any mini-grants until we have an approved budget. The vote on Ms. Morris’ request along with the two other proposals will be tabled until such time that we have an approved budget.

Catherine Linberg reminded everyone to get out the word that the school library is open on Tuesday and Thursday 10:00am – 12:00 noon through August 2nd.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
